Classes & Testing

Upcoming Classes:

The Ammon Group will be offering Saturday morning Technician License training beginning February 25th. Classes are from 8:00 A.M. till Noon (4 hours) each Saturday. The last session (March 18th) will be an FCC testing session. 

Remember that there is no longer a Morse code requirement for any amateur radio license.

Attendance Encouraged, but not Required
Attendance at all 4 sessions is highly encouraged and will be beneficial, but is not required. Please encourage those that are interested to attend as many of the sessions as they can, but let them know that they aren't required to attend any classes to obtain their license. They only need to pass the written exam.

Registration is Required to Obtain a Manual
Please contact the Ammon Group contact listed below BEFORE February 20th, 2017 if you need to purchase a manual. The cost will be $25 each unless the price goes up. Late orders will be retail $29 plus shipping & Handling payable on receipt.

The manual used will be the New ARRL Ham Radio License Manual Level 1 Technician, Third Edition. Question Pool good through June 30, 2018.

Testing Session
You may attend only the testing session if you would like, however you must notify Steve well in advance of anyone planning to test. The FCC Examining Team will need to know how many will be testing or materials will not be available for testing.

Class Dates
      
Register:     On or before February 20th, 2017 for Manual
     Class 1:      February 25th - 8:00 A.M. till Noon
     Class 2:      March 4th - 8:00 A.M. till Noon
     Class 3:      March 11th - 8:00 A.M. till Noon
     Test Session:      March 18th - 8:00 A.M. till Noon 
 
Location:  EITC 1600 South, 2500 East in Idaho Falls. Creek Building, Building #5, Room 556 (use entrance door 3 for easy access)
The Creek Building is located on the North East end of Campus


Upcoming Area Test Session
  • March 18th @ EITC. The test session for the above mentioned class is open to all for anyone to test. Please contact Steve Taylor ahead of time so he can plan for you.
