Technician Class starting February 9th.

Now is the Time to Help Others Get Prepared

The Ammon Group will be offering Saturday morning Technician License training beginning February 9th. Classes are from 8:00 A.M. till Noon (4 hours) The last session (March 2nd) will be an FCC exam session. The Exam Session is open to anyone any one upgrading to any class license.

Remember that there is no longer a Morse code requirement for any amateur radio class.Attendance is encouraged, but not Required

Attendance at all 4 sessions is encouraged and will be beneficial, but is not required. The only thing required is to pass the exam. Please encourage those that are interested to attend as many of the sessions as they can, but let them know that they aren't required to attend any classes to obtain their license. They only need to pass the written exam on November 3rd.

Registration is Required to Obtain a Manual
Please contact the Ammon Group contact listed below BEFORE February 5th if you need to purchase a manual. The cost will be $25 each unless the price goes up. Late orders will be $32.95 plus shipping & Handling payable on receipt. Note: The manual used will be the New ARRL Ham Radio License Manual Level 1 Technician, Fourth Edition. Question Pool good through June 30, 2022.


Registration is needed on or BEFORE February 5th so they will know how many manuals to order. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone (youth or adult) to get a ham radio license.

Exam Session
You may attend only the Exam session if you would like, however you must notify Steve well in advance of anyone planning to test. The FCC Examining Team will need to know how many will be testing or materials will not be available for testing.

If you would like to upgrade to General or Extra Class, you must notify Steve in advance so that the exam team will have a test ready for you.

Class Dates
Register: On or before February 5th, 2019 for a Manual
Class 1: February 9th - 8:00 A.M. till Noon
Class 2: February 16th - 8:00 A.M. till Noon
Class 3: February 23rd - 8:00 A.M. till Noon
Exam Session: March 2nd  - 8:00 A.M. till ~Noon

Location: College of Eastern Idaho 1600 South, 2500 East in Idaho Falls. 

Creek Building, Room 556

The Creek Building is located on the North East end of Campus. Nearest the street light in front of the Ammon Walmart.

When testing all candidates must bring two forms of identification, one must be government issued with a picture, a black or blue ball-point pen, and $14 cash. If you are upgrading, then you must also provide a printed copy of your current license.
